Don’t get lost in the advice desert

Extensive Legal Aid cuts came into force on the 1st April 2013 under the Legal Aid Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (LASPO).

Legal Aid is no longer available for most family law cases, unless there is strong evidence of domestic violence.

So called “advice deserts” have been predicted following the introduction of these cuts. This is not a view shared by Donna Tilbrook, senior partner at Best Solicitors.

“Best Solicitors has a long history of representing clients under legal aid. As a firm we are committed to access to justice for all” says Donna. “Whilst the cuts represent a significant challenge, at Best solicitors our clients continue to be our priority and we believe strongly in working with our clients to provide affordable expert legal advice”.

In May 2012 Best opened the Pinstone Street Walk in Centre, based in the centre of Sheffield. Here individuals are free to talk to one of our experts or to make an appointment to see one of our specialist solicitors without commitment.

Best Solicitors offer a range of fixed fee’s for family work including fixed fee divorces. In addition to the Pinstone Street Walk in Centre, Best Solicitors offer a free half hour consultation for all new clients where appropriate funding solutions can be discussed.

So there really is no need to feel lost in the “advice desert”. Best Solicitors are here for you and for your family in all your legal needs.
