Happily ever after?

From data published by the Office of National Statistics it is estimated that up to 32% of marriages will end in divorce by the 20th wedding anniversary.

In 2011 the highest number of divorces was among men and women aged 40 to 44.

Wendy Bailey, senior solicitor and Head of the Family Department at Best Solicitors said in response, “It is important that the impact of divorce proceedings upon families is never underestimated. At Best Solicitors all of our family solicitors are members of Resolution, and as a trained collaborative lawyer I fully recognise the importance of approaching divorce cases in an amicable and constructive manner”.

Whilst 2011 saw the number of divorces fall by 1.7% to 117,558, there has been an increase in the number of divorces for men and women aged 45 and above.

“At Best Solicitors we have an experienced team of Family Solicitors and access to professionals to advise our clients on the implications of their case. Whilst every divorce is different we do have particular expertise in representing clients and dealing with Pension and business assets, as well as dealing with the family home and ongoing maintenance”, says Wendy Bailey.
