As the Chancellor announced that the Furlough Scheme will be extended until the end of October to assist employers coming out of the unprecedented times, the Housing Secretary announced that the housing market can start to regain its normality allowing home moves to commence again.
So long as house movers and new tenants adhere to the social distancing guidelines then they are free to move to a new house. Estate Agents, Removal Companies and Conveyancers have also been permitted to reopen from 13 May 2020 meaning that the housing market can start to see some normality in the professionals having skeleton staff in the offices with remaining team members still working from home where possible.
As part of the Housing Secretary’s announcement, house viewings can also take place in person although we do anticipate that some sellers will still prefer to undertake digital viewings whilst ever social distancing requirements remain in force.
Best Solicitors have continually been servicing our clients ensuring that sale and purchases are progressed even during the lockdown and are pleased to see that more clients will now be able to move forward. It is still important to ensure that moving house is carried out as safely as possible avoiding contact wherever possible.
