Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
“The UK will show its true colours in the next 14 days.”
Our Managing Partner, Donna, said that after listening to BBC Radio Sheffield. Toby Foster received the most unlikely phone call from a listener. The listener shared an unfortunate story. According to him, he witnessed a shopper [in an unnamed supermarket] slap an assistant because the assistant politely told her she wasn’t allowed to buy the number of toilet rolls in her trolley. Apparently, she had many rolls in her trolley.
This got us thinking.
Are you worried about COVID-19? If so, that’s okay. Are you carrying-on as usual, refusing to panic? That’s okay, too. The outside world seems beyond our control right now, but actually, we are not helpless. Not even close. You see, we still have control over one thing… how we treat each other and how we treat ourselves. Both of these will influence how bearable the next few days/weeks are.
So, at Best Solicitors, we all gathered round a table and shared our favourite ever quote about humanity. Some real beauties came up.
We whittled all 29 quotes down to our TOP 3:
The next time you pop to the supermarket, walk the streets, pass a stranger, whatever… we hope you take these with you and do all you can to make yourself feel good, and make others feel even better.
1: “Things done well and with care exempt themselves from fear” – William Shakespeare
2: “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fibre of free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
3: “Today, give yourself permission to be outrageously kind, irrationally warm, improbably generous. I promise it will be a blast.” – Sasha Dicter
