Writing a Will

Writing a Will is an incredibly important step to take as you prepare for your future. There is often a lot to consider, and it can be a difficult task to undertake. At Best Solicitors, our team of sympathetic, experienced solicitors are here to help you plan and write a will in accordance with your wishes, so that you can be assured that your loved ones are cared for when you’re gone.

As well as transferring or distributing property, a Will has many other functions, including keeping your tax liability to a minimum. A Will can also be used to name a guardian for any minor children or to designate a Trust and Trustee to handle an Estate (property left after death) until the children become adults. A Will also provides the option to name an Executor or personal representative who you would like to take care of your affairs from the time of death until the Estate is settled.

We can also advise you if you have been named in a Will as a Trustee or if you are an Executor of a Will. If this is the case, our Wills and Probate team can help to ensure that the distribution of the Estate named is smooth and hassle-free.

It is possible to make a Will if you are aged 18 years or over. It is advised that a Will should be made if you have undergone any change in personal circumstances; changes such as marriage, buying your first home or starting a family, or any other significant event that may have occurred in your life.

We provide a speedy service if these situations should occur, which includes the following:

  • New Wills
  • Free storage of your Wills
  • Amendments to your existing Wills
  • Probate and Administration of Estates
  • Public Guardianship office work
  • Advice and assistance for the elderly
  • Disputes over Wills
  • Powers of Attorney
