Donna was admitted as a solicitor in 1996 and has taught law at university level, giving lectures and training.
As a partner at Best Solicitors she specialises in Personal Injury, Civil and Family Law and has had conduct of serious cases within the High Court and County Court. She is actively involved in issues regarding domestic abuse and violence and is a highly accredited Resolution Specialist for the firm as well as a member of the Children's Panel.
Donna is also a member of the International Child Abduction Panel and undertakes work on behalf of the Central Authority. She is also an active member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as well as the Law Society Family Panel.
John was admitted as a Solicitor in November 1986.
In addition to being a specialist Criminal Practitioner since 1988, principally defending cases at all levels of seriousness in the Crown Courts and Magistrates Court, he has overall responsibility for the firms Probate and Trust Department. He is also the firm’s money laundering reporting officer.
He has conducted some high profile prosecutions for the Health & Safety Executive and is a member of the Court & Duty Solicitor Schemes.
In the past has held the position of Criminal Courts representative of the Local Law Society committee and has been on the Steering Committee for the Legal Practice course at the University of Sheffield.
Flowing from his experience in dealing with health and safety related issues and knowledge of the Local Authority/Private Care Home system John is able to advise and represent interested parties in matters before the Coroner's Court. This is a complicated area and interested parties benefit from taking early advice at what can be a difficult and sensitive time.
Vanessa was admitted as a solicitor in 1993 following post graduate level study of law and 5 years working in the University Law Departments of Birmingham and Sheffield.
From qualification as a solicitor she has specialized in both Criminal and Mental Health law.
Vanessa is a member of the Duty Solicitor Scheme. She is a member of the Law Society Mental Health Review Panel.
Vanessa has had conduct of serious criminal cases before the Magistrates and Crown Court She qualified as a solicitor advocate who has Higher Rights of Audience in Criminal law.
In mental health law she specialises in representation before the Mental Health Tribunal (First Tier) and Upper Tribunal. She has represented detained patients, nearest relatives and Trusts. She is a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association.

Wendy qualified in 1993, having completed her training contract with a firm in Barnsley.
After her admittance as a solicitor Wendy worked in Sheffield before working in Leeds and Rotherham. Wendy returned to Sheffield in 2005 and joined Best Solicitors in October 2006, becoming Head of department in 2008.
Wendy is a Family Law specialist dealing with all aspects of Family Law, including divorce, children, ancillary relief, cohabitee disputes, collaborative law, international child abductions, care work etc.
Wendy is an advanced member of the Law Society Family Panel, an Accredited Resolution specialist, a member of Resolution, a trained Collaborative Lawyer and a former member of the South Yorkshire Committee for Resolution and she has previously trained as a Mediator in 1995.
Stephen is a family law specialist dealing with all aspects of family work including divorce, relationship breakdown, financial matters, Children Act applications and injunctions. He undertakes both private and legal aid work.
Stephen is a Resolution accredited specialist family lawyer. He is an experienced advocate who adopts a client focused and constructive approach to helping clients achieve their objectives.
Stephen graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 and studied for a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Sheffield and graduated in 2003. He joined Best Solicitors as a trainee in 2004, qualifying as a solicitor in May 2006.
Qualified in November 2003, Shetal specialises in all aspects of family law work relating to married, unmarried and same sex couples including problems with financial matters, children disputes and injunctions. She has also represented extended family members such as grandparents in children disputes.
Shetal is a member of Resolution. She works with an emphasis in assisting people in resolving their relationship breakdown during an often stressful and emotionally difficult time. She is well known for providing her clients' with clear and practical advice in order to achieve solutions to her clients' problems in an efficient and effective manner.
Shetal graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1999 and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Sheffield in 2001. She trained at a firm in Barnsley and then moved to a firm in Manchester for 5 years until returning to Sheffield.
Up until joining Best Solicitors, Shetal was involved in a phone-in legal radio show to help keep the local community informed of their legal rights. She is also involved in local events such as completing the Legal Walk 2008 and 10km runs in Manchester.

Alison has specialised in family law for 6 years and is a trainee Legal Executive and Associate member of CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives).
As a family lawyer, Alison undertakes a range of work, including divorce and injunctions, but she specialises in work involving children and carries out her own advocacy work in courts across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Alison has been involved in complex cases heard by the High Court of Justice.
She is also involved in the local community, attending Women’s refuges to provide advice and assistance, and also providing staff training and advice to the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and other organisations that help vulnerable people.
When not working Alison enjoys taking part in sporting events in aid of charity, such as The British Heart Foundation Run, The Breast Cancer Research Run and St Luke’s Hospice’s 'It's a Knockout Challenge'.
Martyn graduated from the University of Liverpool with a LLB (Hons) in 2006 and then travelled round Thailand, Australia and New Zealand during 2007-2008.
On returning to the UK, Martyn completed his Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Leeds in June 2009 and then joined Best Solicitors as a trainee solicitor in September 2009.
Martyn is now a family law solicitor dealing with all public law matters including Care Proceedings and International Child Abduction and is a member of Resolution.
Tom graduated from the University of Leeds in 2007 and then attended BPP in Leeds to undertake his Graduate Diploma in Law and LPC. He then completed his training contract at Best Solicitors before qualifying in September 2011.
Tom has qualified into the Civil Litigation Department and has particular interest in contentious probate, personal injury and debt disputes.
Outside of work Tom has a keen interest in sport and especially Formula 1, rugby and football.
Helen qualified as a solicitor in September 2001 and has specialised in criminal defence throughout her career. In 2005, Helen joined BPP Law School and lectured in criminal law.
When she returned to practice in September 2008, Helen joined Best Solicitors where she continues to specialise in criminal law and deals with the entire spectrum of offences from murder to motoring matters.
Ben graduated from Hull University in 2006 and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Sheffield University in 2007.
Ben qualified as a solicitor in October 2009 having completed his training contract with Best Solicitors, which he started in September 2007.
Ben's interests lie within criminal law and he has qualified into the Criminal Defence team. Ben is an accredited Duty Solicitor and has experience in both minor and major matters.

Jill Eddison is an extremely experienced Legal Executive.
She has worked as a Legal Executive in Sheffield for a number of years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience, especially in property matters.
Jill also deals with Wills and Probate matters and has taken part in the St Luke’s Will Month for the last 2 years helping to raise funds for the charity.
Jill won the Legal Executive of the Year category of the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards 2010 recognising her hard work and experience.
Dr Julie Hanson-Clerehugh
Julie has worked exclusively in family law since 2004 and is experienced in all aspects of family law. The vast majority of Julie’s current practice is public law work – representing parents, family members and children in care proceedings, and advising family where social services have involvement with their children. Julie specialises in working with parents who are learning disabled. Julie is experienced in all aspects of family law, including divorce, financial relief, private law children matters, domestic violence, and cohabitation breakdown.
Julie is a very experienced advocate, who appears before the local Courts on a regular basis, representing her clients.
Julie is accredited to both the Law Society’s Children Panel and the Advanced Family Law Panel. She is also a member of Resolution

Debbie qualified in 1993 and is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children’s Panel as both a parent and children’s representative.
Debbie now specialises in representing parents, children and family members in proceedings brought by the Local Authority, as well as children in complex private law proceedings. Debbie is an experienced advocate who is committed to ensuring that parents and children’s voices are heard within these complex and distressing proceedings. She is committed to ensuring, where possible, that children remain with their own family.
Having advised regarding all aspects of Family Law throughout her career, Debbie also specialises in divorce and ancillary relief matters and was one of the first solicitors to achieve the Law Society’s Advanced Family Law Panel Accreditation.
